- Right click on the desktop, select New, select Shortcut.
- In the wizard window, type in these codes
- shutdown.exe /s /t 00 or shutdown.exe /r /t 00
- The /s stands for Shutdown, where as /r stands for restart.
- Click on the Start Menu or the Windows Orb on your taskbar.
- Go to Control Panel
- Go to Hardware and Sound (if you have your Control Panel in Grouped View)
- Go to Power Options
- Click on Change plan Settings for the Power Plan that you are using.
- Click on Change advance power settings
- A window should pop up.
- Extend the Power Buttons and lid menu
- Extend the Start Menu power button menu
- From there on, you can change how the power button in the start menu behave. Either Sleep, Hibernate or Shut Down
- Faulty notebook Batteries. Remember to check with your computer vendor about the Recall. Better be safe than regreting it.
